"Police Woman" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
7"x8"

If I had another life to live, I might like to be a police woman, no joke. The contrast between that and an artist's life of contemplation seems extreme. Anyhow, I was drawn to this image because of the peculiar balance between the masculine and feminine elements- the truck, the uniform, the city street and then the female face and hair in a blond bun.

I love your urban people paintings! You will never run out of interesting things to paint, that's for sure. Your use of light and shadow amazes me. Love it!

Another strong painting. I like the use of blue on the planes of her coat that tilt to the sky. The face has a great look as well. This woman means business. You wouldn't want to mess with her.

I am agreeing with the other posts - I immediately noticed her 'Just TRY to mess with me' expression. This is excellent, Taryn!
