"MY SACRED PLACE" by Linda Benton McCloskey

This piece is quite different for me.   When I paint, one of my priorities is value (contrast) and as you can see it has very little.  This painting was completed in November of last year when I was in a very meditative mood.  It was finished quickly listening to soft music.  Normally I will look at a piece for several days or weeks and decide if it’s finished.  With this particular piece I didn’t want to change a thing.  It also has lots of soft lines which do not show up in the picture.  Mixed Media - 40 x 30 on canvas.

The soft tones and subtle accents of darker values with the soft lines make my eyes wander around and drift from place to place. This piece really represents a mood of peacefulness. Nice

It takes a lot of courage to leave a good painting without trying to "improve" it. Kind of reminds me of a piece of marble with hints of a figure emerging. It does matter because it is beautiful.

I love the subtle softness of this, the mystery. It's a beautiful piece, Linda.

This is beautiful Linda. I so some wall finishes that have a similar soft movement.
