"Measured Steps" by Linda Benton McCloskey

This piece was completed right before my “fall” in late November.  I worked on it using various shades of burgundy and pink, but just couldn’t resolve it.  I added the orange and it still didn’t work.  Finally after looking at it for several days, I added the vertical stripes…and it was resolved.  This is beautiful in person.  The photo doesn’t do justice to the piece - the textures and softness.  Mixed Media (mostly acrylic) - 36 x 36 on canvas.

Fascinating post Linda. The colors in the painting look great on the blog too!

Wow - this is so beautiful. The vertical stripes do really look wonderful. It reminds me of something victorian. Just breath taking!
