Daylilies by Julie Riker

16x20 oil

This is one of two paintings that I just delivered to Brath & Hughes Gallery for their Feburary floral exhibit.  I actually started this last summer when the lilies in my yard were in their glorious bloom, but then I got busy with other projects and the painting was pushed aside for awhile.  The prospect of this exhibit prompted me to finally finish the piece.

I saw these when I was in the gallery today; so delicate and beautiful. I especially liked the landscape within the vase. Nice touch!

Thanks Sharon and Linda.
It is interesting that you see a landscape there in that drippy glazed vase.

Thank You, Julie! Too bad I missed you, I wish i could take a time and look around, but today I'm on a run. Hopefully I can stop by some other day and see everything. Maybe even will be able to make it on reception. Look like it will be plenty of great paintings.

The lilies are delicate, but also lively. I love still life paintings that aren't so "still". Beautiful job, Julie.

Oh Julie - I am soooo in love with this painting. What a total joy to get to hang it in the gallery yesterday. This is the whole idea of having this exhibit in February. The front showroom is blooming with joy. Thank you for participating. This painting is a must see!
