BEACH GRASSES AND PALMS By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic/canvas
11x14

Florida has been mostly warm and lovely; perfect for painting inside or out. This painting, done, from photos I took on a coolish and breezy day, was painted indoors. My first outdoor painting was started at a local botanical garden. I will be returning next week with other plein air painters to finish it.

I really like the limited palette, Cecilia, and I can feel the breeze. Beautiful painting.

Makes me want to be there and feel the breezes too. Nice mood and painting.

On a cold day this is a welcoming, warm painting to come across. The palm trees are calling me to the beach. Thanks, Cecelia for the daydream!

Thank you ladies; and Dianne I really enjoyed using the colors of this palette-2 yellows-oxide and cad med,2 blues--ultramarine and brilliant, magenta medium, cad orange and white-magenta and brilliant blue have become "givens" for me when I'm painting in FLA.

I've been waiting for this lovely warm, tropical paintings, Cecelia! It's been like a freezer here today, so this is even more appreciated!
Beautiful colors...
