Gourd Nativity detail by Dianne Lorden

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I've been mainly wood-burning and gourd crafting this month, so am sharing this detail from a traditional gourd creche I created. Above is a view of the outside, back, with the Magi and their camels. At top, a peek inside, where a gourd Baby Jesus rests in a gourd cradle, with Mary and Joseph (also gourds) look on adoringly. I was really tickled to find a tiny, leaning gourd for Mary!

I jumped up on the DPP site last night and saw this, but didn't have time to comment. I think this is so creative and just plain wonderful, Dianne. I have never seen anything like it! Fantastic!!!
