McPherson Barn en plein air, Dianne Lorden

What a splendid November week we've had! Yesterday, I set up on the GNMP for 1-1/2 hours in the beautiful autumn sun to work en plein air, and did this pastel (on Ampersand board) of the rear view of the McPherson barn. I admit to having "popped" the foliage color somewhat, but heck! That's how I saw it, anyway! Craig, in typical form, disappeared for an hour to scramble about and see the sights on foot, then returned to relax with his newspaper while I finished up. All in all, a glorious respite from the gourd-crafting "lab." (My gourd work can be seen at Shamanic Art.)

My artwork can be seen at South Mountain Sketchbook.

wonderful barn--the roof and the shadows and lights on the wood--beautiful light in the sky--so far Nov has made up for the miserable weather in Oct.
