Zebra Look by Charlotte Yealey

15x20
Acrylic and Colored Pencil
This Lake Tobias zebra did not want to turn around to get his picture taken but he kept his eye on me.
I am not too satisfied with the stripes-they made my eyes cross.

I think this is my ever favorite of all your paintings, Charlotte!... Simple and... wonderful. Love that stubborn expression on her face. Just like a pony!... Very-very nice!

And I like the light airy background.

I think real zebra stripes make your eyes cross, too! So it's a great job - a truly beautiful painting.

WOW, Charlotte! I love this vantage point of the zebra - it showcases the beautiful patterning of his skin, and really gives the painting a powerful sense of personality. Magnificent!

Thanks Claire. This might be the closest I have come to abstract or modern art which is what I was thinking when painting the stripes. I was trying to make them look like they were his skin and coat but I don't know if happened.
