LATE SUMMER MORN ON THE BAY By Cecelia Lyden

oil/linen

16x20

It was a late August morning when I took this photo from the deck of my daughter's home on the Chesapeake Bay. The sun was up and the clouds were rolling in. A light breeze moved through grasses, already turning fall colors. Shadows cast from the house created strong contrasts on the grasses. This painting was done from my photo. I was down in Annapolis to help my daughter recoop from surgery. No time to paint, but time enough to drink my morning coffee on the deck and take lots of photos.

Really a breath-taking sky - I love the strokes in it, as well as the colords.
