Plein Air Demonstration in California
Greetings from the left coast. I am out here on a four day painting excursion called "Painting with the Masters." It's been pretty incredible so far and it's only day one. I haven't even had a chance to break out my paint box yet! That starts tomorrow when I have a compostion/still life class with CW Mundy. Today I got to see Peter Adams do a pastel demonstration on "Painting the Pacific in Pastels." It was fascinating and I learned a lot about a medium that until now I had only toyed around with. I also got to see a lecture this morning by Dan McCaw on the importance of design pertinent in any type of painting. Another fascinating lecture. Tonight it's David Leffel giving a two hour lecture on design, after the 1 hour reception....that I am now late to! I'll post more pictures as the week goes on! Hope you are all staying dry back there!
