Started en plein air by Dianne Lorden

Hello everyone - we're back from vacation, which was cut a bit short as we were evacuated from the Outer Banks, NC. We arrived home Friday, 2:30 a.m. It's stressful knowing you're going to be evacuated -- but not quite sure when -- because the weather is gorgeous and you're trying to fit in everything you wanted to do before leaving. Of course, I imagined creating a lot of artwork, but didn't have the chance to do nearly as much as I had hoped. This pastel is of the view from our deck, which I worked on a couple of times, on lovely afternoons. I got far enough, I think, and like it sufficiently, to finish it at home. So I'll post it again when it's done.
I hope you all weathered the storm well!

I am so sad to learn you had to cut your vacation at the Outer Banks because of the hurricane, Dianne - but am glad you got out safely. The Outer Banks is a very special place, and you've really caught that essence in what you have done here. Can't wait to see the finished piece!
