"Green Farm Equipment" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
5"x7"

Hurricane Irene has made her exit, leaving in her wake brilliant blue skies, cooler temperatures and a soppy ground.    When I'm painting farm equipment I'm always a bit anxious that it might stop posing and be driven off to work.
This title, "Green Farm Equipment" is very dull.  I would love to know what this thing is used for, so I can name the painting properly.  Does anyone know?  Here is a photo:

Hi Taryn - farm equipment would be an interesting challenge to tackle. I always enjoy paintings of tractors etc but have never attempted to put one on canvas. Hmmmm. Nice work!

Taryn, I suspected this was a baler (for the square hay bales) - my husband just confirmed. Hope this helps!
