Back To School Time - Debi Watson Watercolor

I actually went out to photograph school buses one morning. I was probably the only driver who wanted to be behind a bus. Unlike wildlife, school buses are easy to find and photograph. I just kept taking a photo every time it stopped, until I got a composition that made a good painting. I love morning light - it's my favorite, with the sideways shadows, very dramatic! This painting is in private collection. www.debiwatson.com

I like everything about this, Debi - but have to say that the way you have handled the light striking the side of the bus and the sun-infused atmosphere in the distance is sublime.

I like it Debi; the sunlit right side is well done.

I love it! I'm right there behind the bus. I can hear the engine and see the kids through the back window of the bus. Excellent job.

Really great. I love the strong sense of light just beyond the bus, and the very large tree that is cropped just right.

ahhh - off they go. I get mixed emotions when my boys leave for school. Wonderful painting.

As a retired teacher I know that sight very well--I agree with all the above comments--the sense of morning light and the feel of being there--but I must say, if you had looked closer, you might have seen a bit of "wildlife" on that bus.
