SUSQUEHANNA ROUNDBALES
Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Susquehanna Roundbales'
Oil
11 x 14

I put out a request on Facebook recently to see if any one
in my area had seen round haybales that are bound with baling wire
instead of sheathed in plastic, as most of the farmers
have begun to do.  I wanted the irregularity of the bales,
and the imperfections as well.  I got a great
response from people in my area, and was able
to go out in the early evening to observe and photograph several
fields of these roundbales here in the Susquehanna Valley.
My thanks to all of the people who helped me out!!!

I'm glad you have enough of bales to paint, Claire!.. I love those things. the only thing what looks even better - those weird corn-stucks what Amish are making... I see those every year at the end of summer when drive to State College... I wish I could stop and take some pictures of those. Simply spectacular subject to paint!
