PA Governor's Residence Exhibition, by Ron Donoughe

This exhibition, Across the Alleghenies, was just installed at the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence in Harrisburg. Patrick Ruane and I are the featured artists until December. We are both showing our paintings of the Western PA region. The curator thought it would be fitting to pair us for this show. The newly elected governor is a native of Pittsburgh and still maintains a home here.  All of my 11 paintings depict the city and Pat has 10 rural landscapes. It is an honor for us to exhibit together in such a beautiful space. The exhibition can be viewed if arrangements are made by calling 717-772-9130. To see an image of the governor's residence click on their website.

This announcement above is worth clicking on to see the larger version of Pat's painting, Silver Morning. It is both subtle and poetic.

Congratulations from me too, Ron. I will be going to see your work as well--Pat's work is delicate and depicts that morning light beautifully--Your painting is solid, strong and speakes to city streets and old middle-class neighborhoods--the kind I grew up in. Love your paintings.

Oh yes - the staff is wondeful. When a group of us locals went to paint there last year, they invited us into the Dining Room and the chef brought out fresh baked cookies.
