IN THE DEEP END
Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'In the Deep End'
Oil
8 x 10

We took the grandkids to the lake at Colonel Denning
State Park over the Fourth of July Weekend.  It was
so incredibly hot, and it was nice just to splash around
and cool down in the water.  While I was there, I was
taking pictures of the kids, and also just some random
shots of people on the beach and in the lake (love
my tiny Canon camera with the 10X zoom!)  I saw these
three ladies out in the deep end, and loved the way
they looked with their sunglasses - especially the lady with
the cotton top hair-do!

Love the light and the composition.

I love this Claire! I can hear the water lapping just by looking at the little ripples on the water. Love it!

Brings back memories of tubing down the Yellow Breeches River. Wonderful painting. Love the light glimmering on the water.

People painting-great fun--so well done, too, Claire.

This so reminds me of the place we went swimming as kids . Everyone called it "The Bend" as it was a bend in the local branch that flowed into Oil Creek near Hydetown PA. As I looked at this the feeling of the water there came back so very strong! Thanks for the memories!

Thanks so much, everyone.
Sunny - I spent a lot of my youth swimming in the Yellow Breeches, Pinchot Park, so I know what you mean. I couldn't help but think of how much fun I had as a child when I watched my own grandchildren giggling and splashing in the water.
