"Farm Buildings on Derstein Road" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
5.5" x 7"

This scene may look idyllic, but actually I'm standing on the lawn of a  oil company with lots of truck traffic, and looking across a four lane highway.

Love the chunky strokes here, Taryn. Love the colors and composition too. I would be rather upset were I this farm owner when that oil co. moved in.

I love the simplicity of this and those dark dark greens!

Exquisite economy of brushwork - a really wonderful painting, Taryn.

I agree with my peers comments - such lush and impasto brushwork sparingly applied. Your stylized massing of volumes conveys the weight and relationships in your composition.
Your saturated color palette enhances sunny, humid environment.
