UPDATE - COMPLETED PAINTING
'Beech Springs Farm Garden'
Oil 9 x 12
I completed this last night, and think I got the colors
pretty close to what I experienced on site. Sure hope to
go back there again - it is a plein air painter's dream.
DAY THREE - JUNE 12, 2011
Gettysburg Fringe Festival Plein Air Event
We met today at Beech Springs Farm to paint in the gardens
while the Gettysburg Festival was holding its Farm to Table
culinary event. The guests were up in the barn eating, and we
were so thankful that one of them came down to let us know
that the National Weather Service had issued a severe
thunderstorm warning (accompanied with strong wind and hail)
for the area where we were painting. Thank you to that
very kind and thoughtful gentleman - we were able to pull
our gear beneath the overhang of the barn and ride out the storm.
We only got thunder, rain and a little wind - no hail, thank goodness!
Raining in the garden...
Amy and Linda taking shelter while we wait out the storm.
My painting, in progress. Going to grab some supper, then
hope to work on this while all the images of that beautiful garden
are still in my head!

Awesome post Claire! Your painting will be beautiful I'm sure. I arrived back home today right when the storm started. I had a great day of painting at Sach's Covered Bridge.
Your having just too much fun!
This painting of the garden looks wonderful. I hope to see it posted when it's finished!
So when do you sleep?
Your posts are great and are getting me excited for the colony! Hope we run into each other sometime.
Beautiful completed painting, Claire.
