I haven't posted in a while and hate to drop off the blog for so long, so I'm posting the piece that I'm currently working on. It's shrimp and red wine, with a few lemons. It's a gift to my husband for his birthday in June. I have never painted shrimp before and am having a lot of fun with this one. The lemon is just blocked in and needs some work too and the shrimp are not totally done, but with shrimp you want to work FAST. There's a smell factor there. I attempted to finish the shrimp in one 7 hour painting session, and almost did it. I have a picture to finish it with today. I'll post it again when I'm finished.

Christine, this is stunning so far. Don't overwork it! The shrimp are great. I see they've been de-veined. That's nice.
What a great start. This is going to be awesome. I am also excited about the paintings you will be showing with us at the Capitol Exhibit.
Thanks Dianne. How did you know I have a HUGE tendency to overwork it? LOL. I really do and will keep that in mind as I "just have to touch up one more thing on the shrimp."
Thank you Mary Beth. I am really excited about showing with you at the Capitol Exhibit!
I agree. Love it already.
Thanks Ron!
Oh - can't wait to see this finished because it is already so wonderful!
This is so far my the most favorite of your paintings, Christine! Looking forward to see it finished, interesting what you will do with glass. (Shrimp is delicious already!).
