Potted Begonia Plant

oil on board
5.5" x 6"

I've been stuck inside since last weekend, when I sprained my knee while out landscape painting. I painted this close-up view of a potted plant as a way to imagine I'm back outside, surrounded by the color green.

Gorgeous color, Taryn. I love your brushwork, and the way you have made painting those waxy leaves look so easy - when we all know it is not!Hope the knee feels better soon and you can be painting outdoors again.

Thanks Claire. Actually I found the leaves difficult and time consuming, and I'm glad that isn't too apparent! There was such a maze of detail in this plant.

Shows depth and light and I like the colors too.

Taryn, love your "technique of application".
