This past Friday morning, several members of our plein air group, the
Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters met to paint at Willow Park,
in the borough of Camp Hill. We have had so much rain
(along with some pretty vicious storms) this Spring - everything
is lush and green, and the flowering trees are profuse with blooms.
We painted fast - the clouds were moving in with more
rain predicted later in the day, but the morning was excellent
to be outside and painting!

This is really beautiful. I know how hard it is to paint the color of those blossoms, but you made it look easy!
Beautiful, Claire! The color is just bursting out on those blossoms!
Clair, I agree - the variation of the tints give the tree quite good depth. The whole painting expresses the dampness of this spring. On my forays out, I've run into too much spongy ground!
Oh, Claire, this is stunning! Absolutely what spring should look like. Your handling of the colors in the tree, the grass, even the muted tones of the background -- perfection!
Thanks so much, Taryn!
Dianne - I agree with you about the spongy, wet soil we have to deal with this Spring! Thanks so much for your comments.
I really appreciate your comment, Sunny!
Thank you, Amy. With all of the lush green in the park, it was nice to see the pink blooms and softer blues and greens in the background.
Claire, you handled that tree beautifully. Beautiful painting.
Claire, this is AMAZING! You really nailed it on the blossoms and it is a stunning piece. Great job!
