Flooded Trunks, 9 x 12, oil, by Ron Donoughe

Rain, rain go away. The excess water in the rivers has caused a lot of this, flooded trunks. These reflections appeared to move with the viewer. Very strange. The same phenomenon seems to happen with eyes on some museum portraits. The general rule with reflection is that dark values reflect lighter, lights reflect darker and middle tones reflect about the same.

Thanks Ron, for sharing. Water everywhere. I dug a trench to put a board in for a raised garden bed... it filled with water before I was finished. Now I have a "water feature"...

The saying,"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." comes to mind. How many of us have cloudy,rainy looking paintings now? Can't wait around for sunshine this spring. I've actually started a painting of ferns in my garden, sitting inside, looking out the window--went out during a rain stoppage to work on it today-3 mins into it it began raining again. Interesting info, Ron, and nice work as always.
