My word, Maria--this is an amazingly beautiful portrait--the red paper is fabulous--especially contrasted with the grayish hair[so nicely rendered] and the skin tones--great volumes in the face and wonderful sensitivity in the eyes and mouth. Your subject could not have asked for more.

How exciting to choose this rich color for a portrait! I probably wouldn't have thought to pick it for fear of clashing (or something!) with skin tone. But it worked out very well. Great job!

Thank you Cecelia. This was one of those times that I didn't plan too much. I had this red paper left over from a kids class and just took it. I didn't have high expectations for today, I was more concerned about chatting and catching up with the group. I must have been relaxed because it was pretty effortless. I did enjoy the bright paper. Will have to do more.

I agree with everyone - this is absolutely wonderful. I too would never have thought to use that bright paper. But you made it look amazing. Beautiful!
