"Oil Tanks Behind State Road" by Taryn Day

oil on gessoed paper
7"x5 and 3/4"

The sun finally decided to show his face today, and so I was determined to get outside to paint. I knew it was windy, but after a half hour of painting the winds picked up to gusts that were so strong I spent half the time holding everything in place. Still, it was great to get out. I found a whole new industrial area to explore and paint, so I'm completely happy right now.

You should be happy. I think some really good work comes from being uncomfortable. It may have been a struggle, but it doesn't look like it. I especially like your subtle warm reflections on the tanks. What nice brushwork to move from warm to cool without changing value.

Gorgeous greens, Taryn. This is a familiar sight in my area too. Who knew it would be such a beautiful painting and a statement as well. Well done!
