Misty Morning on the Dunes - Linda Benton McCloskey

This canvas acrylic image size is 24 x 24. I painted it a couple of weeks ago during my trip to Myrtle Beach. I usually am not aware of my surroundings and after it was finished a friend said to me - "it looks just like the beach!". Being a non-objective painter, I was stunned to see the ocean, the dune fences, the storm that has just passed and the beautiful sunset that was starting to appear. I had been standing behind a black iron fence - even that appears as the black slashes. All of this was non-intentional! It also reminds of my encaustic pieces.

It's hard for me to describe how beautiful I think this is. Misty Dunes or not this piece stands on its own as a wonderful color field painting.

Looking at Lisa Egeli painting posted below, I see the same coloring and the same serene beauty--2 different styles of painting--isn't art grand?
