We often walk along the Gettysburg National Military Park road that passes by the Culp Farm. There are beautiful cows in the fields there, sometimes on one side of the park road and sometimes on the other. But very often, in the heat of a summer day, they can be seen lounging alongside the creek, in the shade. (We think this may actually be Winebrenner Run.) I've taken many photos of them over the past few years; this is the first one I've used as a subject. I was just in the mood for cows - you know how it is. Still feeling a bit cowish, so I may select another view. Visit my work at South Mountain Sketchbook.

I love the way they are placed among the grasses! There is something about cows...they make for some great subject matter, as you most assuredly have shown us here, Dianne.
I always feel "cowish"! LOL This is a beautiful and oh so serene landscape!
I completely agree with the above comments. I also feel that there is a beautiful harmony and unity of color and style which emphasize this bucolic scene. So nice.
I just want to take a nap in this piece.
Lovely breeze flowing through it.
