ROMANCE IN THE GARDEN
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Romance in the Garden'

This past Friday, several artists from the Susquehanna Valley
Plein Air Painters painted at the PA Garden Show of York.
A room that brought the feeling of an interior space set up in
the open air of a garden, (created by landscape designer Kathy Elliot
of Rockelman's Nursery), immediately caught my attention.
I quickly set up my gear to paint this intimate setting of table and two
chairs, wine and flowers - all set under a pergola with draped corners
that added up to a perfect spot for romance.
As I was painting, I kept thinking how much I would like to have
a space like this in my own garden at home.

This is awesome Claire! So romantic...I really enjoyed seeing it come together.

Great painting Claire! I admire that you kept your own painting pace through the busy show atmosphere and changing lighting. The blue background here really helps to create the mood.

Painting in front of a crowd is very different than being alone out in the fields. Great work Claire!
