Iron Furnace at Boiling Springs 6X6 Oil on cardboard by Steve Wetzel

After meeting A few of my fellow Seven Lively Artists for Friday lunch today, a number of us traveled out to the Boiling Springs area to paint along the Yellow Breeches. I wanted to work on a couple of small studies from the area and this little 6x6 of the historic iron furnace was my first of the day. What a beautiful day it was to be outside painting too. I hope the rest of you were able to get outside to enjoy this weather.

To my mind, a beautiful and successful piece. I am intrigued by this furnace and want to know more! Off to the internet!

Great post Steve! I have looked at this structure many times but have not "painted" it yet. Boiling Springs is one of my favorite locations to paint.
