Free Spirit - Linda Benton McCloskey

One of my latest paintings - "FREE SPIRIT" that I painted during my individual study at Springmaid Beach Resort in SC a week ago. Surprisingly alot of yellow which I seem to be using lately. It's acrylic on stretched canvas 24 x 24.

I am really drawn to this, Linda -- it looks like it has a fair amount of texture, something I seem to be craving in my own work right now. Great movement.

Lots of intimate niches to get lost in!

Love the textures and layers. It really engages me.

Wow! 2 lively paintings in a row to comment on--Pat Griffin's Nell and your Free Spirit--both showing great animated brushwork and expressive colors--This is one reason I love art so-- 2 different styles and subject matter--same spirit and creativity.

Linda, I just visited your new studio at Gallerie 13 this afternoon. I have admired your work on the DPP blog, but it does not even compare to the powerful impact it makes in person. Gorgeous!
