First Plein Air of 2011 by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath

Wildwood Wetlands - Harrisburg PA.
6x6" Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Plein Air Painting Completed on Site March 18th, 2011
Yesterday was a glorious day to paint outside. I actually finished this one and blocked in another. The people out walking were so excited to see artists painting. What a great way to start my plein air season!

I love the colors in this one; it shows me you were excited to be there and enjoyed the beauty of the day. Nice!

Very nice, Mary Beth! I'm with Linda -- the colors are lovely. And the sense of light, the atmosphere, etc., very convincing!

I like the view you and Sue found--I'll try walking down that path next time--The tree is appropiately bare and squiggly--so nicely painted.

Beautiful depth and atmosphere in this, Mary Beth. One of your best plein air paintings - wonderfully painted!

Thanks! It almost sold last night at Gallerie 13, but I did not have the varnish on yet. She bought 2 other of my paintings and may come back for this one. I plan to paint today outside of Gallerie 13. Anyone can join me if you get a chance!

This little painting is even better in person. Great composition and sensitivity of color.
