California Dreaming by Christine Marx

This is my latest painting, finished last week. It is from a trip I took to California in the fall. My mom and I were driving back to her house from Lake Tahoe, admiring the fall foliage (yes, California actually has some pretty amazing spots for color change!) and I asked her to pull over so I could get this picture. The landscape was truly glowing, it was an overcast day which made the yellow in the grasses just amazing. I hope I captured just a bit of what I saw that day!

I noticed a similar light just last week. Well done! Love this landscape.

Welcome to the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania Christine! Your first post is beautiful and I see you did not have any trouble getting started. Before I read your text, I was noticing the warm and inviting colors of the field.

Thank you so much Mary Beth! The only little glitch I had was posting it twice but one of them got taken down so it ended up alright. I am so looking forward to being a part of this group. Thank you again for the opportunity!

This is so California. I remember the colors and scenery from when we lived there.
