Tarnished Silver by Linda Young

Tarnished Silver
Watercolor 14-1/2 x 21"
by Linda Young

The idea came from a digital photograph of my tarnished silver bowl in a still life display I had set up to paint.   I discovered by zooming in on a particular part of the bowl it had wonderful abstract qualities within it.  To my surprise, I saw many colors (including emerald) which were not really visible until I did that.  Here is my tarnished silver bowl, enlarged, reorganized and painted with watercolor just for you to see what I saw.

The painting can be seen at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center's "Emerald show" from February 18 to March 19th

Deb, Cecelia and Lyn; thank you for saying you liked the inspiration for this. We never know, even with people, what lies underneath the visible.
Sincerely,
Linda
