Mountain Chickadee - Acrylic Impressionistic Representational Wildlife Bird by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

Mountain Chickadee
5" x 7"
Acrylic on Canvas

This painting was done for Gary Keimig's Wilderness Art Challenge. The white stripe over the eye identifies the Mountain Chickadee from all other chickadees. I always love bird paintings and this is a nice one. They are such small creatures... but have so much detail and personality. I like the loose background too.

What a beautiful piece, Pat! If this isn't snapped up, I'll be surprised!

I'll vivit Gary's blog, but I can't imagine a better painted version of this bird.

This is painted so well, Pat - your edges are especially beautiful! I have seen the other entries on the blog, and this is my favorite.

This is, I think, the nicest interpretation of that challenge. I love how you handled his feathers and kept the background soft and muted.

You did a great job with this challenge. I did not know that a mountain chickadee has that white stripe.

Lovely, Pat! Lovely, lovely, lovely!

If Gary will continue with his challenges, it will be only getting better and better. His wildlife photos are amazing. I think I need to jump in at some point too... but not any soon. Next month or so I have very limited painting time.
