Channel 27 Video on 7 Lively Artists by Steve Wetzel

Low Tide at Crow's Beach
Chuck Rhodes visited the Warm Springs Lodge during the Seven Lively Artist's annual winter retreat a couple of weeks ago to shoot one of his Out and About segments. The video which you can view by clicking on the link beneath the group photo off to the right is the result. We had a very good visit with Chuck and for those of you who never met him, he is every bit as nice and casual to speak with as you would imagine. We meet there annually for an extended 3 or 4 day weekend, painting from Thursday through Saturday and then wrap up by having one of the patented "lively" group critiques on Saturday evening after dinner.
The painting above is another piece which was started en plein air during last year's group trip to Cape Cod...but was not finished at the time due to an onslaught of wind, bugs and extreme afternoon sun and the lack of shade on the beach. I finished this painting just last Saturday morning in my class at the Art Association of Harrisburg.
I have to give a big shout out to Mary Beth Brath for helping me get back into active posting mode. I lost my "new post" tab along the way somehow and Mary Beth was able to figure out what we needed to do so I could get my act back in gear......so Mary Beth.....a BIG Thank you!!

Steve, Great to see you posting!! I love this beach scene. How I would love to walk back that road and jump in the warm water!

Looks very much like a Tybee Island Beach scene where I do my running/walking/beachcombing during my visits to Savannah.....oh to be there now!

Nice one Steve. I especially like the sky value. It really lights up the foreground.
