I am enjoying working through two new paintings. An atmospheric winter morning and a large scale riverside path.
I am trying to focus on working with direct brushwork and subtle glazes.
The next week or 10 days will allow me plenty of uninterrupted time to work on these paintings.

10 days in the studio - what bliss!
Both of these look like they're going to be impressive pieces David. I love the winter morning piece already. It's very simply done and yet really captures the mood. It will be interesting to see what the next 10 days will bring. I hope you'll post them again when finished.
Looks like a great start! Can't wait to see the progress.
Both paintings look great. I especially like the top one. Has an element of mystery to it. Very nice.
Thanks for the comments - I kicked-in-gear on "Winter Morning" - it is nearly completed - need to take pictures and post.
The large piece is hard to work in my small studio without the paint flying around - after splashing the winter river canvas two or three times - I focused on getting that one complete and out of the way : )
