self portrait, Maria Kovalenko Leysens

I found another blogger who had been doing self portraits for a year. She explored and posted so many ideas. I shared a few of them with my adult watercolor class as an example on how to expand the use of materials, just have fun and play. My demonstration stayed pretty close to the example, but my students went over the top with the process. All of them made the project their own and I have to say, I am so proud and just a little jealous of what they did.

This is very different and imaginative. I really like this one Maria. It is a nice twist on the portrait.

Very intriguing, Maria. And very brave, as well -- I haven't tried a self-portrait in quite a while. Gives me food for thought.
