The Pomfret Street Barbershop by Linda Young

One of my blog followers Irina Sztukowski, is an excellent artist and recently did a wonderful Sketchbook project called "Down my Street".  It jogged my memory having done a drawing of one of our local barbershops here in my hometown.  I finished the little painting this evening and I think I'll work on a similar project for my home town.  Thanks for the idea Irina.

Linda, there is a down home flavor to this little watercolor. Very nice.

Lovely mirroring from the barbershop pole to the bench. That little evergreen is gorgeous! Well done!

The greatest charm of this is that it could be any little town, and so it would resonate with many people! Wonderful!

It reminds me of taking my brother to the barbers for his haircut when he was young. I went with my father and watched him getting his cut too. Hopefully, it will remind others of the same things in their past.
