11x14 oil
This painting has been purchased by the staff of the Governor's Residence and presented as a gift from them to Governor Rendell and the First Lady. I am honored that my painting will be owned by such an important couple and hope that it becomes a cherished reminder of the eight years they spent living in this beautiful place.
I painted this during an open house tour where I joined a few other artists in demonstrating plein air painting in the gardens. It was a steamy July afternoon but I resisted the urge to quit. Even through 2 passing thunderstorms I just sat under my umbrella and kept painting. I am glad I did.

Congratulations, Julie! Your diligence and talent paid off, and you have an absolutely gorgeous painting of the Governor's residence! It is a perfect sweeping view of the mansion, and the flowers and trees that grow there - really beautiful work! I am sure this will be a true treasure for the departing Governor and his wife.
A well deserved Congratulations!!!!
And the painting is beautiful too!
This is just marvelous, Julie. Couldn't be prettier in person!
Such wonderful news Julie! Your work can not go unnoticed anywhere. It is truely stunning work.
Congratulations Julies! Awesome painting and an awesome honor!
Congrats Julie! What a nice honor.
Stunning and how awesome that this was purchased by the governor and his wife!
Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! And just to verify...it was not purchased by the governor, but by the staff that runs the residence...the cooks, housekeeping, gardeners, and managers that keep the place going through each administration. They pulled together and bought it as a parting gift to the Governor and First Lady. The Rendell's are now the owners of the painting.
Julie, congratulations! What an honor. It is a beautiful painting; well done!
