New project, Dianne Lorden

This commissioned piece will keep me busy for the next few weeks; Christ Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. I've spent a few days - on and off - on the technical drawing (for later transfer to board). Part of the reason it's tricky is that it's not a current-day rendition, but a period illustration. Yet, there are not many pictures of this building that suit my project. So, I'm knitting several together as best I can. This sort of work brings up the oddest, trivial question about changes to a building over time ... but it's not boring!

Sounds like a great commission. All that work refining the drawing will certainly pay in the end.

Quite the challenge. Good luck and happy painting!

This is interesting, Dianne. Tremendous job on the technical drawing (vertical lines and vanishing points...I can sympathize)! You know I love historical subjects so I'm anxious to see where you're going with this. Keep us posted!
