Dog Portrait, Maria Kovalenko Leysens

I did quite a few portrait commissions for the holidays, but did not post any of them. Some, I feel are ok to post, others, I feel too private. This is a dog that I just did and felt ok to post.  I had fun pushing some of the colors. Kind of fits this type of dog.  8x10 inches watercolor.

I think it's terrific, how you "pushed" the colors. The painting has so much life this way. It was brilliant to leave the eyes more natural.

This is beautiful, Maria. Black dogs are not an easy subject but you did a wonderful job of capturing the values with colors that make this little guy shine!

Happy New Year, Maria. Beautifully done; I really like the use of your colors. And, the "look" on that little guy's face is just precious.
