I noticed the way you used diagonal lines for the bottom scales. These are all so interesting to see how you paint them. Nice!

OK! I feel officially silly! :-) OF COURSE it is saltwater fish, if it lives in Caribbean Sea (I adored the fish and didn't read the text!) :-)

Where on earth do you get the reference photos for all these varieties? (I'm not imagining a whole lot of dead fish in your studio. Yikes!) You must either be a fisherman yourself or have a great contact in the industry.

Very good name for this fellow. I chuckle at the thought of you having a bunch of dead fish in your studio for research! But attention to detail is important! Very nice Thom.
