Fabulous, just fabulous!
Fantastic and yummy, Pat.
I'll never forget the first time I purchased and cut open one of these crazy fruits - years ago. It was so odd on the inside, I thought there was something wrong with it and tossed it out! (I mean, who expects to eat just the seeds? Coated in jelly, no less.) But they're delicious, as is your masterful painting.
This is stunning, Pat. The colors are so rich and beautiful!
It is a funny coincidence that I purchased a pomegranate last week with the intention of cutting it open to paint, but I really struggled to get the right red. I was so frustrated that there was no combination on my palette that was as vivid as what I was seeing. You, however, have done a wonderful job of achieving that brilliant berry/salmony color. I would love to know what reds were on your palette.
WOW - Fantastic!
One of your best Still Life paintings, Pat! (At my opinion anyway, I didn't see all your works). Like it a lot. Very successful work.
Such a beautiful rich acrylic painting--I really like the dark background in contrast with the fruit.
Luscious rich colors, as always, Pat!
Thanks everyone. Julie I had Alizarine Crimson, Cadmium Red Medium, and Cadmium Red Light on the palette. Tatiana,I really did push it to a Classical Realism, but I really would like to be able to make it more painterly eg ala Richard Schmidt & Qiang-Huang...love seeing the brush strokes.
Pat, This painting is better than the original photograph! It looks rich and vibrant!
Thanks, Linda, someone on another blogspot said they had to check to see if it was the original photo. That had me counting seeds....the count and placement are different LOL
Pat this is exquisitely beautiful. I can taste the pomegranite. Congratulations.
