Day 66

What a surprise to wake up one morning to the sight of
snow flurries coming in over the mountain ridge.  The
flurries provided the perfect atmosphere for painting
this weathered old pine tree, which looked as if had already
withstood many a storm.

You really captured the feeling of the flurries and the morning light. The composition is wonderful.

I feel the coldness of the day - wonderful atmosphere and mood.

Claire, I agree with Maria, the composition is really strong.

I love it when a single tree or part of that tree and its negative spaces fill a canvas.

Thank you, everyone. It was an interesting painting to work on because the sky and lighting was constantly changing. But I guess that is what makes plein air so challenging and fun!
