"Cleats" on the drawing board - Dianne Lorden

This current project (two sessions into it, and hoping for only one or two more) is from a photo I took while inside one of the whalers berthed at Mystic Seaport, Conn. I liked the shadows. The view outside is of the Mystic River. It's all Rembrandt pastels, so far, on a Tiziano (with a Fabriano label) paper. I'll likely drop in accents with softer pastels.

Very interesting view. I also like the shadows in this piece. Nice job.

Nice painting. It looks like you have an ideal work space set up, in front of a nice big window!

Yeah, I don't exactly have a studio ... more of a "station" in the sun room. But it consists of a hand-made drawing table (my dad's work) with a storage shelf and a This-End-Up-brand TV cart that slides under the table perfectly, creating lots more storage. Compact and bright!

Let me try that again, (too many typos in that last post)
This is really nice. I love boat paintings/sea related paintings although I've never done any. So you were inside a whaler? Very nice and a very interesting view. You have a great work station there too. I don't really have a studio either just a work area off from our kitchen/dining room. I'm thinking about turning our sun room into a studio though because I really need the space.
