Behold My Beloved
by Deborah Nell
12"x14" watermedia on Yupo paper
This painting almost painted itself. As usual, I didn't know what I was going to paint when I started and selected some colors and started working intuitively. This time I added white to my pallet and was pleased with the result. I saw this woman looking off into the distance and I knew the title. She is beholding her beloved and her beloved is beholding her.
I'll be displaying my work this Saturday 11/13 at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Hanover at their annual Christmas Bazaar 8:30 am- 2:00 pm. This piece will be available for sale. Price is $225.

This is so beautiful, free and colorful. I am sure it will sell!
This is so full of expression and color - a beautiful work of art!
Hi Deborah -- I'm impressed by your ability to paint intuitively, not even knowing what you're going to paint. I'd have to say I don't think I've ever done that -- I always have a certain subject or mood in mind before I start, even if the end product doesn't match my original intention. Your approach intrigues (and actually, slightly intimidates!) me. But it sounds like an avenue I should try to explore, eventually. Thanks for sharing it and giving me, for one, food for thought!
This is a very expressive painting...I love your use of color. Very nice Deb!
