Sue by Maria Kovalenko Leysens

Another watercolor (10 x10) I did as a gift.
I really enjoyed working on these past two portraits,
because, sometimes you meet people that make a difference.

Your portraits are quite expressive and your use of watercolors to sculpt facial features is really impressive. It would be fun to watch the process. Great job!

I was thinking of doing a demo for my blog. I'll let you know when I get it together. Thanks for the comments!

WHAT JOY YOU MUST GET FROM CREATING A LIVING, BREATHING PERSON ON CANVAS--THESE PORTRAITS ARE SO MUCH MORE ALIVE THAN SOME OF THE STUFFY, FORMAL, SMOOTH[NO BRUSHWORK] RENDERINGS I HAVE SEEN.

I love how the light is shining down on the face. Your people are so wonderful and so full of emotion. Beautiful painting!

You are so masterful at painting the light and shadows that model the human form, making them come to life in the two dimensional. This is lovely!
