YELLOW FIELD IN GETTYSBURG

acrylic on stretched canvas
16x20
I caught sight of this field of yellow wildflowers after a visit to the "teddy bear barn" in Gettysburg. It was an overcast day, but those bright flowers and pinkish dried grasses still jumped right out at me.

the colors make this field look happy and content as it looks forward to fall......

Are these goldenrod? I was just talking about how prolific they are this year. This makes a wonderful painting!

This painting just glows ... what wonderful light it demonstrates. I agree that it makes one ready for autumn.

I love a landscape that works just as well as an abstract. 5 Stars!

Tom-And,I love that you could see my true interest in painting this scene--those horizontal bands of color--I came so close to truly abstracting this scene, leaving out much of the detail--thank you for noticing.
