Abstract: A Day on the Gulf of Mexico by Linda Young

13-3/4 x 10"
A Day on the Gulf of Mexico
by Linda Young, artist

Take an excursion on a glass bottom boat and you'll see all the colors of the rainbow.  Do some fishing, look at the coral, see the greens of the seaweed.  Gaze upon the horizon and watch for the beautiful sunsets and maybe even do some sailing.  Just a day on the Gulf of Mexico when there wasn't any oil to mess it up.  Such was the day in February of this year and I loved every minute of it.

This painting is going to be up for bids at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center's annual fundraiser called the mARTini Auction.

Thank you. Abstract painting is such a foreign thing to me; but the more I attempt it, the more I realize that abstract just "is". There is no rhyme or reason when I start; the color ideas and shapes just come to me. In the end, Mary Beth it is sometimes an explosion of color like this one turned out.

We don't see many abstracts here and this one is a beauty! Hope there will be more.
