"New Life Under My Deck" Colored Pencil by Charlotte Yealey

9x11
Colored Pencil
Every spring robins try to find a spot for their nest and this year one raised a family under the deck. We watched them grow and leave the nest and now each time we see a robin, we wonder if it is one of the babies we watched.

How beautiful and clean is under your deck! What a lovely capture of this past spring too. I love the babies in the nest and the nest is so exquisitely detailed. Just lovely, Charlotte!

Wonderful variety of textures--I have a photo of a mommy bird sitting on the nest she built in my spring wreath on our front door--of course we couldn't use that door for quite a while.

Another favorite of mine. It is up there with your Hare and Turtle! Great pencil work!! Especially on the damp wood in the background.

I absolutely love this Charlotte - your technique with the pencils is perfect. It looks the best in story-book illustration to me.
