FLOATING DOWNSTREAM
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Floating Downstream'
Oil 24 x 30

This is a painting of an incredibly old and beautiful
oak tree that lives on the banks of one of the tributaries
of the Yellow Breeches Creek, along the Dickinson School Road.
I am so glad that I got to paint it, because age and
some recent bad weather have taken its toll on this
tree, and unfortunately it is just a shell of its former self.

This painting will be on exhibit with other paintings
from members of the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania blog
at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building East Wing Rotunda
in Harrisburg, PA during the month of September 2010.

Breathtaking! Glad you were able to preserve it in all it's glory.

I'm glad you got to paint it, also. You certainly captured your emotional reaction to the beauty of the oak foliage, its twisting branches and the misty, peaceful stream.

Very pretty work, Claire!
I'm pretty sure it will look great at upcoming show.

This is a beautiful fall scene. Love the softness!
